LOS ANGELES Select Resources International confirmed it has been hired to oversee a review for Sony Electronics’ U.S. advertising account. Estimated billings are $150 million.

The client parted with WPP Group’s Young & Rubicam in Irvine, Calif., earlier this month, and the agency’s contract with the client expires on March 31.

The account had been at Y&R for seven years. Sony Electronics’ svp and general manager of corporate marketing Mark Viken is a key executive in the agency search, sources said.
