NEW YORK — Following presentations on Wednesday, Sony Corp. has cut the list of contenders on its $500 million-plus U.S. media consolidation to two, according to sources.

Omnicom’s Arnell Group and PhD, New York will vie with Sony Pictures incumbent Universal McCann, New York and Los Angeles, part of the Interpublic Group.

Bcom3’s Starcom MediaVest Group did not make the final cut. The entertainment giant is expected to decide between the remaining two contenders before Christmas.
