NEW YORK — Six contenders have emerged in The Wiz’s creative review, sources said. The New York shops include Cliff Freeman and Partners, Fallon, Bates, Hampel/Stefanides, The Concept Farm and The Wolf Group.

Billings were undisclosed, but according to CMR the The Wiz spent about $9 million on measured media for the first quarter and nearly $50 million in 2001.

The Cablevision-owned electronics retail chain commenced the agency search earlier this year shortly after the arrival of Jeffrey Yapp, Cablevision group president of retail, which includes The Wiz and Clearview Cinemas.
