GSO/Davis has won ad vertising chores for SiteScape, a provider of Web-based software and services.

The Maynard, Mass., client, which has done virtually no advertising in nearly two years, chose Boston’s GSO/Davis following a review in which Allen & Gerritsen, Watertown, Mass., was runner-up, said Heidi Gabrielson, director of marketing at SiteScape.

The competition was close, but GSO/Davis got the nod over A&G mainly because the client, with roughly $1 million to spend on ad vertising, felt more comfortable with the service and attention that a smaller agency such as GSO/ Davis could provide, according to Gabrielson.
