Site ‘Super-Serves’ College Bowl Coverage

CHICAGO Cox Newspapers’ Dayton Daily News in Ohio and Cox Communications’ New Orleans-based Cox Sports Television (CST) have launched a Web site intended to “super-serve” fans of Ohio State University and Louisiana State University as they prepare for the Bowl Championship Series National Championship game on Jan. 7, 2008.

OSULSU.com combines the Daily News‘ comprehensive coverage of the OSU Buckeyes with CST’s news and video coverage of the LSU Tigers.

In addition to team stats, highlight videos and photos, and other news and information about the teams and the game, the site features a “Guess the Score” feature that offers visitors a chance at winning a $1,000 gift card.

Cox is promoting the Web site to advertisers, noting that it combines the reach and resources of its Ohio and Louisiana properties, and will be linked to other sites through Cox’s cable stations and newspapers.

“Highly energized and loyal supporters of their teams, both LSU Tiger and OSU Buckeyes fans are a special breed of sports enthusiast. OSULSU.com delivers a powerful platform for advertisers to reach this highly desirable audience,” Rod Mickler, general manager for Cox Sports Television, said in a statement.
