NEW YORK Harvey M. Sheirr, a longtime copy editor in the production department of Bozell, died Dec. 13 at his home in Manhattan. He was 74.

Sheirr spent 20 years at Bozell and got to know top executives such as David Bell, Jay Schulberg, Gene Bartley and Chuck Peebler. Among the accounts he worked on were The New York Times, Merrill Lynch, “Got Milk?” and Chrysler.

“He was so goddam smart when it came to the English language,” said Bell, former CEO of Bozell and later, its parent company, True North Communications.
