Scotts Miracle-Gro’s first Super Bowl appearance also marks another first for the brand: a new spokesperson named Pete.

Pete is positioned as the brand’s resident “expert” and is intended to appeal to millennial lawn care and gardening enthusiasts. While his introduction might be enough for a commercial during any other time of the year, the Super Bowl is a completely different playing field. So the casually bearded guy in an untucked, buttoned-down shirt and jeans is supported by a range of well-known actors and sports figures in “Keep Growing,” a 45-second spot created by VaynerMedia.
