Dallas SBC Communications has fired Omnicom’s Goodby, Silverstein & Partners from its product advertising account, the client confirmed, but its business is expected to stay in the family. Sources said Omnicom’s GSD&M in Austin, Texas, will likely get most of the business. Other roster agencies include Omnicom’s Merkley Newman Harty & Partners in New York and Rapp Collins in Dallas, and independent Rodgers Townsend in St. Louis. SCB spent an estimated $120 million on ads from January through November 2002, according to CMR.
