Sarandon, Bosworth Promote Revlon

NEW YORK Revlon is breaking a print campaign in February magazines (on newsstands this week) that adds two more celebrities to its roster, the company said.

Susan Sarandon and Kate Bosworth are the latest actresses to appear in advertising for the cosmetics maker. They join Halle Berry, Julianne Moore and Eva Mendes in a print, online and TV campaign called “The Dressing Room,” created by Interpublic Group’s Deutsch in New York.

Sarandon and Moore appear in ads for Revlon’s Age-Defying liquid foundation and with Berry in ads for ColorStay Overtime Sheers. Bosworth and Mendes tout Fabulash mascara.

Photographer Peter Lindbergh shot the print work, and Robert Altman directed the TV spots.

The New York-based client is in the midst of a review for its estimated $125 million account, with incumbent Deutsch defending. WPP Group’s Berlin Cameron/Red Cell and Publicis Groupe’s The Kaplan Thaler Group, both in New York, are also in the hunt, according to sources. Presentations on Revlon brands are set for early February, and sources said that if those brands move to another shop, the Almay line could follow.

Deutsch also handles media duties, which are not in play. The agency declined to comment, as did Revlon.
