Verizon is targeting gamers with a Super Bowl ad starring an animated avatar of Samuel L. Jackson.

The minute-long ad, which ran in the third quarter of Sunday’s Big Game, features the actor lecturing a crowd of characters in the game Fortnite. His speech abruptly ends when Pittsburgh Steelers star JuJu Smith-Schuster swoops in on the back of a giant fish that swallows Jackson whole.

The McCann-produced spot comes on the heels of a massive Fortnite activation that Verizon hosted in the week leading up to the Sunday’s game, in which several NFL players made appearances.

Its light tone also marks a departure from Verizon’s previous three Big Game campaigns, each of which consisted of heavy spots
