Peter Weedfeld has been promoted to svp of sales and marketing for Samsung’s consumer-electronics division, a new position, the company said. He had been svp of strategic marketing; he will continue to oversee that function. In his new role, he absorbs the responsibilities of John Garrison, who left the company last month. Garrison had been evp, sales. Samsung awarded its estimated $150 million global consumer ad account to a team from WPP Group last year.
