Sales Factory Adds University of Akron

BOSTON The Sales Factory, a Greensboro, N.C.-based branding company, said it has been selected by the University of Akron to market athletic programs for the school.

The firm will create customized messages targeting alumni of the Ohio university and use individualized direct marketing to enhance the school’s image, boost season ticket sales, increase renewals for its basketball program and raise money.

“Our university division has a proven record in branding to promote many types of higher education fundraising,” said Ged King, agency president. “We’ve pioneered personalized messaging to alumni.” That division specializes in crafting highly targeted marketing communications on academic, athletic, arts and other topics across traditional advertising, new media and direct response.

With more than 22,600 students from 41 states and 68 countries, the University of Akron is part of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The school has 18 NCAA Division I-A intercollegiate athletic teams for men and women.

Sales Factory’s other clients include Bennett College, the N. C. State University Annual Fund, the Wolfpack Club, the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy, Vanderbilt University, the University of Tennessee and the University of South Carolina.
