NEW YORK Saatchi & Saatchi has named Jan Jacobs and Leo Premutico executive creative directors of its New York office.

Jacobs and Premutico, who joined the agency in May 2005 from the shop’s London operations, were promoted from their positions as creative directors.

“Jan and Leo are incredibly talented and they’ve been rockin’ and rollin’ from day one,” said the agency’s chief creative officer Tony Granger. “Their mission is to continue working with me to drive great work across all brands.” Jacobs and Premutico helped the agency earn six Lions at Cannes last June, including two for Procter & Gamble’s Tide to Go.

Most recently, the team produced a Web-driven campaign for Folgers themed, “Tolerate Mornings.” The effort included a 90-second film showing chirpy people singing “Happy Morning” to groggy young adults.

In their new roles, Jacobs and Premutico become Granger’s chief deputies in the 75-member creative department.

While working at Saatchi in London, the team produced notable work that includes the NSPCC “Ventriloquist” spot that depicted the horrors of child abuse by using a cartoon image of child that turns into a real boy in the end.

Prior to Saatchi, Jacobs, an art director, worked with Granger at Bozell in New York and TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris. Premutico, a copywriter, was at Colenso BBDO in Aukland, New Zealand.
