The arbitration between FCB/East president J. Brendan Ryan and his former employer WPP Group PLC has ended in Ryan’s favor, sources said. According to documents published last year that outlined WPP’s refinancing, Ryan was seeking $1.1 million from WPP. Ryan, the former head of worldwide client services at Ogivy & Mather, pursued the settlement after maintaining his job description changed after WPP bought O&M. Neither Ryan or WPP would comment on the decision. Two other former O&M employees, past chairman Ken Roman and Toni Maloney, who headed up worldwide communication at O&M, also arbitration hearings against WPP.
