SAN FRANCISCO – John Yost, senior vp/gm of Hal Riney & Partners here, will move to the agency’s New York office as executive/vp, managing director effective immediately. The appointment effectively removes Jim Travis from day-to-day responsibility of the agency. Travis, who had been president of the agency based in N.Y., was named vice chairman in December when Riney appointed Tony Houghton to the president’s post. Houghton is based in S.F. The appointment of Yost, who will manage the office and oversee new business, fills the void left by Travis’ recent move.
