Riney Adds 2 Creative Directors

SAN FRANCISCO Publicis Groupe shop Publicis & Hal Riney has hired two local creatives, Ken Cook of MRM Partners, McCann Worldgroup, and Dominic Goldman from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in newly created positions, the agency said today.

Cook, 46, has been hired as senior vice president, worldwide creative director of brand integration. Goldman, 33, joins as vice president, creative director of interactive.

Both men were brought on board as part of Riney’s expanded focus on integration and interactivity. The hirings follow earlier additions of brand integration specialists Jim Consolantis in April and Jamie King in May.

At Omnicom Group shop Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Goldman was group creative director for Adobe, Hewlett-Packard, Subway and the California Milk Processor Board. Prior to Goodby, Goldman held several positions at Ogilvy & Mather’s Singapore office, culminating in creative director and head of the interactive group.

Cook, who used to head the Microsoft team for MRM, will report to Consolantis, and Goldman will work under co-executive creative directors Jae Goodman and Jon Soto.

Before joining MRM, Cook founded his own branding and design firm, Brandtank. Prior to that, he was senior vice president and brand design group head at McCann, where he spearheaded a rebranding of the Oakland A’s and created the first “Brand in Advertising” tools, crafted to guide Microsoft work globally.

Cook has also been vice president and creative director of brand and advertising at Bank of America and held various creative positions at Siegel & Gale and Bright & Associates of TBWA\Chiat\Day.

“Both Ken and Dominic are award-winning creatives who make a habit of staying two steps ahead of industry trends,” Goodman said. “Their addition to the team shows our commitment to putting integration and interactivity at the center of the creative process.”
