The Richards Groupon Monday installed renowned advertising talent David Jenkins asco-creative group head.

Formerly co-executive creative director with Bob Scarpelli at DDB in Chicago until 1993, Jenkins has been freelancing for the last several years. He has worked recently as a consultant to New York agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather on IBM and American Express and the former Ammirati Puris Lintas on Johnson & Johnson and Acuvue.

Jenkins is best known, however, as part of the creative team (along with Dan Wieden and copywriter Jim Riswold) that conceived Nike’s “Just do it” advertising campaign in the late 1980s at Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Ore.

Jenkins will now lead creative efforts at Dallas-based Richards on accounts under the management of Mike Mallone.
