Rentrak Taps Bill Livek as CEO

Media and marketing research veteran Bill Livek has joined Rentrak Corp. as chief executive officer and a director of the company. Most recently, Livek served as co-president of Experian Research Services, where he collaborated on the design and launch of Experian’s adressable advertising service.

In his new position, announced Wednesday (June 17), Livek will take over the day-to-day management of the Portland, Ore.-based research firm, succeeding Paul Rosenbaum who served as CEO since Sept. 2000. Rosenbaum will continue as chairman of Rentrak’s board of directors.

Livek will also focus on growing and evolving Rentrak’s business of providing multiscreen media measurement services to the media, advertising and entertainment industries. Earlier this week, the company announced a partnership with Concurrent to collect and report media data across multiple platforms.

“I am confident that we have in Bill the ideal strategic and operational expertise on board to ensure continued growth opportunities for the company that will evolve Rentrak into a multiscreen measurement and research powerhouse,” said Rosenbaum.

Prior to Experian, Livek was co-chair and director of Simmons Market Research Bureau, where he arranged the sale of the company to Experian. His three decades of working with research firms also includes the development of Transactional Data Solutions with MasterCard, president of Birch Research (which was integrated into Scarborough Research), and vp of sales and marketing for Arbitron Radio.
