Regnier, Valdez Sell to Employees

Employees of Regnier, Valdez & Associates have purchased the 20-year-old shop from co-founders Claire Regnier and Linda Valdez.

Chuck Eberle, formerly senior vice president, will oversee day-to-day operations as chief executive officer.

Other new partners in the $24 million San Antonio agency include creative director Cat Wilson, vice president of account service Christopher O’Connell, director of public relations Lisa Owens and director of production services Sharon Lozano.

The purchase price was not disclosed, but is expected to be paid out over several years from the agency’s profits.

Regnier was said to be retiring, while Valdez was simply “looking to transition,” according to Eberle. Valdez will remain at the agency for an indefinite period, focusing on long-term growth and new business.

The agency’s major clients include Jefferson State Bank, Southwest General Hospital and telecom companies Frontier Communications and Grande Communications.

The shop specializes in direct marketing assignments.

“It was one of those situations where we knew we had a good group of people together and it was important that this core group have a piece of the action,” said Eberle. “We felt confident that we could take this agency to the next level with a little bit of time.”

Eberle said his goals include controlled growth and agency stability.
