LOS ANGELES – An impromptu vacation to the West Coast has led Jannine Regis to her new job as director of business development at Team One Advertising.
Leonard Pearlstein, co-chairman and chief executive officer of the El Segundo, Calif.-based creative shop, tapped Regis for the post effective June 1. Regis succeeds Shirley Dion, who left the agency in March after an eight-year career to pursue other opportunities.
Regis, who learned about the job opportunity by chance while visiting a friend in Los Angeles, joins the agency after 11 years at Jordan McGrath Case & Partners in New York. As senior vice president, director of business development, she helped the agency win such accounts as TCI.
“A lot of the excitement in the ad business is happening on the West Coast,” Regis said. “It’s the place to be.”
Pearlstein, who took over as CEO at the $260 million agency six months ago and has been handling new business since Dion’s departure, said the move will enable Team One to “respond smartly to new business opportunities” and allow him to focus on the shop’s flagship client, Lexus.
Team One, which is not currently pitching any new business, will continue to take a “selective” approach in that area, Pearlstein said. Regis will oversee a three-person department and report directly to Pearlstein.
At Jordan McGrath, executive vice president and director of business development Steve Farella has promoted Carolyn Gray to succeed Regis as manager, new business development. “She definitely is one of our rising stars,” Farella said of Gray.
