ready, set, ghoul

On the Friday night before Halloween, gruesome creatures will frantically race through down town Denver. Some will wear horrible disguises. Most will breathe heavily and perspire profusely.

Sure enough, it’s the handiwork of a local ad agency called Scream. The 5-year-old shop is hosting the second annual Scream Scram 5K Halloween Run/Walk on Oct. 26. The event, which includes a 100-meter sprint for kids, raises money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

“I’ve always wanted to have my own race,” admitted Lora Leder mann, the shop’s founder and creative director, who is also a runner. “We just thought that the name of our agency tied in perfectly with Halloween, so we asked people to wear their costumes and make it something fun.”

Ledermann, whose mother is afflicted with MS, expects to draw 1,000 runners, up from 500 last year. Promo efforts include an eye-catching invite (shown here) featuring a damsel in distress. The model, Rose Diaz, and photo grapher, Todd Schaefer, both donated their time.

Fittingly enough, Ledermann plans to don a Wonder Woman costume for the event.
