R.E. Technologies Names M/C/C

M/C/C has been awarded the estimated $1 million account of R.E. Technologies without a review.

The Dallas agency will be responsible for the local startup’s creative, media planning and buying, public relations and marketing research.

M/C/C will brand R.E. Technologies’ consumer portal, Apartmentmatching.com. The client claims the Web site offers more value than those of established players like Apartment.com and Rent.com. For example, visitors can get a 360-degree view of a particular apartment that is available for rent, according to the company.

The site, which lists apartment complexes in Dallas and Houston, plans to move into other Texas markets by year’s end. A national expansion program is slated to begin in January.

M/C/C, which specializes in technology marketing, gained the account through a relationship with R.E. Technologies co-founder Charlie Taylor, who had worked with the shop before. “They wanted to make sure the agency they selected wasn’t guessing and that the service they were providing was going to be successful,” said M/C/C president Mike Crawford.

The shop has previously handled consumer advertising for clients such as Z-Tel, Valor Telecom and CenturyTel.com. In August, M/C/C picked up assignments from Spatial Wireless and RealVue Simulation Technology.

The agency will initially help the startup identify its target market and the most advantageous medium for its advertising, client president and chief operating officer Mark Pape said. The shop plans to launch its first campaign in the fall.
