Scott Dickey has been named president of Time4 Media’s TransWorld Media division in Oceanside. Dickey joins TransWorld from San Diego’s K2 Inc., where he had served since 2004 as president of K2 licensed products as well as president of K2 properties.

District of Columbia

Nina Easton has been appointed as Fortune magazine’s Washington bureau chief. Easton was previously at the Boston Globe, where she was the deputy Washington bureau chief and lead national political writer. She is also a contributor to Fox News.


Mark Bernstein has been named senior vice president, strategy for strategic interactive firm AgencyNet in Fort Lauderdale. He previously served as vice president, business development/marketing for and as director of marketing for the Bonaventure Country Club in South Florida.


Court TV in Chicago has named Ian Mahoney vice president, advertising sales, Midwest region. Mahoney served as account executive at Court TV in 2000, and more recently served as director of cable entertainment sales for NBC Universal in Chicago.

Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners New York has hired Patricia Mast as group account director. Mast had served as director on the Mercedes account at Merkley + Partners. Chris Konya has joined Kirshenbaum as a brand strategist. She is a former account executive at Cole & Weber United in Seattle.

Ben Segal, former associate creative director at Laird + Partners, has joined AR Media in New York in the same role. At Laird, Segal developed advertising and communications for Donna Karan brands including DKNY, Donna Karan Collection and all associated licensees. He also served as a partner and design director for Tank, and was a senior lecturer at the School of the Arts in Philadelphia.

After six years at Deutsch, Andrew Taylor has joined AR Media in New York as director of client services. Taylor was vice president and integrated account director when he left Deutsch, also in New York. He worked on accounts including Revlon, Almay, Hilfiger, Ikea, Monster, Johnson & Johnson, Us Weekly, Verizon and Pfizer. Taylor also taught the Deutsch account management training program and played a key role in agency mentorship.

Eric Mower and Associates in Syracuse recently named John O’Hara partner. His new role adds to his existing responsibility as public relations director of EMA Group B2B. Robert Hite has also been named partner; he is director of e-business solutions. Joseph DiVirgilio has been promoted from senior account supervisor to management supervisor. DiVirgilio is responsible for the strategic planning and project development of integrated marketing campaigns, direct mail initiatives, new product launches, special events and new media development for a variety of clients. In addition, Padma Patil has been hired as an account supervisor. Prior to joining EMA, Patil worked as a product manager at Unilever Bestfoods in New York City. Michael Tsanis has joined as an art director in the agency’s Brand Promotion practice group. Tsanis will be responsible for designing marketing materials for several clients, including Fisher-Price, Welch’s and First Niagara. Before joining EMA, Tsanis worked at Rosen Publishing Group as an art director. Danielle Gerhart has been hired as an account executive in the public relations and public affairs group. Gerhart first joined EMA in August 2005 as a proofreader.

The EMA Buffalo office has promoted Alena Thomson to traffic operations manager. Thomson previously worked as traffic manager for EMA’s Rochester office.

Ann Mack has been promoted to director of trendspotting at JWT in New York. Mack joined JWT in December 2004 as a senior corporate communications writer.

BusinessWeek Online has tapped Peter Elstrom to serve as news editor, where he will oversee all online editorial content. He joins after serving four years as a senior editor at BusinessWeek magazine, where he headed the information technology department, which focuses on reporting news about telecom, cellular phones, paging, networking and the Internet.

Doremus in New York has promoted Broderick Crosland to account supervisor. He was formerly account executive at the business communications agency.

The Advertising Educational Foundation in New York has elected Linda Sawyer, CEO of Deutsch, as its new chairman. Sawyer succeeds the late Ken Kaess, who was president and CEO of DDB Worldwide.

Judy Hu, global executive director, advertising and branding at General Electric in Fairfield, has been elected chair of The Advertising Council in New York. A board member since 2002, Hu has served as a vice chair of the Ad Council since May 2003.

J. Brendan Ryan, chairman of IPG-owned Foote Cone & Belding, has been named to the board of directors of FreshDirect, a Queens-based online fresh food manufacturer and delivery service.

North Carolina

Corder Philips Wilson, a marketing communications firm in Charlotte, has hired Jim Stadler as associate creative director and Shawn Kelley as senior art director. Stadler and Kelley have been working together as a creative team for more than eight years and most recently worked at Charlotte-based Elberson Partners.


Jessica Worthington has been promoted from account coordinator to assistant account manager at Leopold Ketel & Partners in Portland.


The Marketing Arm, a Dallas-based network of marketing services agencies operating within Omnicom Group, named Basia Wojcik consulting manager for the AT&T account team. Wojcik was director of game operations and corporate sales account manager for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League in Grand Rapids, Mich.


McLean’s Echelon Marketing Group has hired Don Neal as president. Neal most recently worked in New York and Washington as managing director and chief marketing officer for the Consumer & Commercial Practice division of Marsh Inc.


Corbis in Seattle has hired Ross Sutherland to fill the newly created position of chief creative officer. Sutherland was most recently executive creative director, managing partner at Young & Rubicam New York.

Seattle agency Copacino+Fujikado has appointed Tonya Murphy as its media supervisor. Murphy most recently held the position of assistant broadcast manager at LCI/Universal McCann in Seattle.
