NEW YORK Interpublic Group today named Ed Powers, chief operating officer of its Constituency Management Group, worldwide chief operating officer at sibling Lowe, IPG said.

The new post is designed to help new Lowe worldwide CEO Tony Wright reshape the agency into a leaner, more creatively focused shop, sources said. The move was expected [Adweek, Sept. 13].

Powers, 46, had been COO of CMG, which includes public relations, branding and event-marketing agencies such as Weber Shandwick, FutureBrand and Jack Morton, for about a year.
