Porsche Picks Finalists

RENO, NEV. – Porsche Cars of North America last week picked four agencies to compete in a final round for its $10-million account: Goldberg, Moser, O’Neill and Goodby, Berlin & Silverstein, both of San Francisco; Stein Robaire Helm/L.A.; and The Richards Group, Dallas. GBS handles the American Isuzu Motors account, but Isuzu apparently does not see Porsche as a conflict. The only factor clouding the review are reports that Volkswagen AG is studying the purchase of Porsche AG. If that deal were to occur, VW would consolidate the advertising with its agency DDB Needham. A deal, though, is not believed to be imminent.
