Pods Is Set to Break Cable TV Push

ATLANTA Allen & Gerritsen has added Portable On Demand Storage as a client, according to the agency.

The Watertown, Mass., shop won the account following a review that included several undisclosed agencies. Adam Casper, media director at A&G, said that the company would launch its first work for Pods next week.

Spots will begin playing Monday on cable TV channels such as ESPN, TNT, Discovery Networks and USA, Casper said. Commercials will focus on positioning Pods between an expensive moving company and an affordable, do-it-yourself alternative.

The St. Petersburg, Fla., company provides portable moving and storage options to residential and commercial customers in locations such as Daytona, Fla., Charlotte, N.C., Dallas, Denver, Cincinnati and Atlanta, according to the client.

Additional ads are in production, according to the agency. Campaign spending is projected at $8-10 million.
