LOS ANGELES-The Phelps Group here has secured its first car account with the addition of the estimated $3 million Southern California Volvo Dealers Association business.
The agency was assigned the account without a review. It has been connected with the dealer group through Eric Wentworth, an agency vice president and creative director.
Wentworth has served as a creative consultant to the association for the past 18 months. He joined The Phelps Group last year from crosstown CGRW Communications to head up Phelps’ Bushnell Sports Optics account, but he continued consulting to the dealer group independently.
“Once the Volvo dealers were introduced to our capabilities-media planning, buying and promotions-they liked the idea of bringing their business here,” said agency president Joe Phelps.
