NEW YORK Discount brokerage Charles Schwab has put the media portion of its $100 million account in review.

Omnicom’s PHD is the incumbent and will defend the account, the agency said.

Contenders include Aegis Group’s Carat and Interpublic’s Universal McCann, according to sources. Neither shop would confirm its participation.

PHD won planning and buying duties on the account after a consolidation review in 2005. Up to that point, PHD had been the planning incumbent for all of the client’s offline advertising, and had managed print and out-of-home media.
