P&G Targets 2 More For Planning Pitch

Procter & Gamble has talked with Aegis’ Carat and Havas’ MPG (which handles some planning assignments for P&G) about participating in the review for its $2.5 billion North American media planning account, sources said. Roster shops Publicis’ Starcom MediaVest Group in Chicago and Grey Global Group’s MediaCom in New York are already contenders. All parties declined comment.

Saatchi’s Love Joins TBWA

NEW YORK TBWA Worldwide named Tim Love president, global clients, a new position at the Omnicom agency network. Love, 54, joins from Publicis’ Saatchi & Saatchi, where he was vice chairman, international. He will report to Jean-Marie Dru, president and CEO of TBWA Worldwide. Love will be based in Tokyo, where he will oversee TBWA’s relationship with its largest global client, Nissan, and serve as co-chairman of G1 Worldwide, the joint venture between TBWA and Hakuhodo that works on that account.

DDB Debuts First Cotton Spots

New York Cotton Inc. broke a $20 million-plus campaign last week from Omnicom’s DDB. Seven spots herald the joys of wearing cotton and are the first since the agency won the business in November after a review. The spots use several taglines, rather than the well-known “The fabric of our lives,” which ran for more than a decade. One ad shows mannequins wearing cotton fashions and is set to the Beach Boys’ “California Girls.”
