P&G Appoints Leader for Media

CHICAGO Procter & Gamble has promoted Bernhard Glock to manager of global media and communication, the company said.

In the new post, Glock will lead the Cincinnati-based client’s global media organization, set strategies and guide related activities. P&G spends an estimated $3.8 billion annually on worldwide advertising.

Glock, 45, who assumes the post on Sept. 1, was previously director of media for the packaged goods company’s operations in Europe and Asia. He is credited with “building a strong media organization grounded in a deep understanding of our consumers” in those markets, said R. Kerry Clark, P&G president of global market development and business operations, in a statement. (His successor in Europe and Asia has not been named.)

Glock will report to Clark and P&G global marketing officer Jim Stengel. Glock will principally oversee efforts from P&G roster shops are Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi and Starcom MediaVest Group and Grey Global Group’s MediaCom, according to a company representative.
