Petsmart Seeks Shop for Creative

LOS ANGELES Petsmart is launching a review for the creative portion of its ad account, the client has confirmed. Billings are estimated at $30 million.

The Phoenix-based pet supply retailer has been handling creative in-house since splitting with independent shop Doner in Southfield, Mich., in September 2002. WPP Group’s Mediaedge:cia in Chicago handles media, which is not up for grabs.

Select Resources International in Santa Monica, Calif., is overseeing the review. Requests for proposal will be released at the end of this month, and a decision is expected in late spring or early summer, said Petsmart representative Andrea Davis.
