PetSafe Among PR Wins for Cone

BOSTON Omnicom Group’s Cone has won public relations duties on PetSafe, Friendship Dairies and PMS Escapes, the agency said.

PetSafe tapped Cone after a review of undisclosed agencies to handle public relations surrounding retail promotions and new product introductions in the United States and Canada for the pet management solutions company. The Boston-based PR firm will work with the client to launch IdeaFetch, an online contest in which consumers can submit pet product ideas for a chance to win $40,000.

“PetSafe gives Cone the opportunity to take our strong expertise in consumer products marketing and venture into the pet products market,” said Bill Fleishman, executive vice president of Cone’s brand marketing practice, in a statement. “Friendship Dairies adds to our successful history in the natural and organic products market, while PMS Escape builds on Cone’s deep knowledge of marketing to women.”

Friendship Dairies enlisted Cone after a review to handle a media relations program in Massachusetts to help raise awareness of the company’s all natural products.

For Swiss Medica’s new PMS Escape product, Cone will handle media relations, product launch support and marketing communications. PMS Escape is an over-the-counter drug that treats premenstrual syndrome symptoms in women.

Boston-based Cone would not disclose the budgets.
