Dave Park, CEO of DDB’s office here, said he will retire at the end of the year. The agency’s president, Rick Carpenter, has been named to lead the 160-person shop, which claims billing of $800 million.

A 17-year veteran of DDB, Park, 60, was named CEO of the Los Angeles operation two years ago. He will remain a consultant for the agency while pursuing independent business interests. He said he has been planning his retirement for several months and has helped put in place a succession plan to ensure a smooth transition to Carpenter, 44, who will retain the title of president.
