Paramount and Droga5 London Held the Very First Slow-Mo Marathon to Promote the New Baywatch Film

You’ve seen the impressively fast runners completing marathons in Boston and London, but have you ever seen the world’s best slow motion runners compete in an exhilaratingly slow race to the finish line?

Probably not because Paramount and agency Droga5 London just created the first Slow Motion Marathon to celebrate the upcoming release of Baywatch the movie. It’s pretty much exactly as it sounds. The marathon draws inspiration from the iconic Baywatch opening credits where incredibly fit men and women in swimsuits run in slow motion on the beach.

Check out highlights from the race (which hopefully wasn’t really a full marathon because who has that kind of time?) below.

Paramount held the first-of-its-kind event in downtown Los Angeles and invited all the stars from the movie, including Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario, to attend.

Plenty of regular people signed up and participated in the race as well, showing off their best Baywatch-esque moves. Truly, their commitment to the role of Baywatch lifeguard is something to admire, as striking a balance between looking “sexy and determined” can’t be that easy.

Things get pretty heated in the race too, with a bit of pushing and shoving (in slow motion, of course) and a surprise ending when a guy “who clearly has never trained or pushed away from a table,” takes home the winning title.
