Pamet Crosses The Big Pond

As a result of winning significant business from British Telecommunications, Pamet River Partners in Boston has opened an office in London.
The 50-person direct marketing and communications agency founded in 1993 now has three offices, including an outpost in Washington, D.C.
Executive vice presidents Tom McDonald and Steve Cousineau. will head up the U.K. office, which is currently working on customer loyalty programs and direct marketing projects for British Telecom, said agency president Margaret Coughlin.
The shop’s British Telecom work does not conflict with Pamet’s showpiece MCI Communications account because “there is no geographic crossover,” according to Coughlin.
British Telecom is trying to buy MCI, a situation that could lead to even more business opportunities for Pamet, Coughlin said. Federal Communications Commission chairman Reed Hundt last week endorsed British Telecom’s $21 billion takeover bid of MCI. -David Gianatasio
