Told by creator Alan Ball that this season would be more lighthearted, HBO and L.A. boutique And Company chose the jumping theme for print promos. They were inspired by photographer Philippe Halsman, who believed people were less guarded—that their true selves could be glimpsed—in the act of jumping.
