One Club Hall of Fame Welcomes Hughes, Bass

Mike Hughes, president and creative director of The Martin Agency, and Saul Bass, the late graphic designer and Academy Award-winning filmmaker, will be inducted into The One Club Creative Hall of Fame in March.

“The 2010 inductees both add tremendous prestige to the Creative Hall of Fame,” said Mary Warlick, One Club CEO. “Mike Hughes’ 28-year creative leadership of The Martin Agency has propelled the agency from a regional creative shop to one of the top agencies in America. Saul Bass created a visual language for film titles as a new art form. It is appropriate to induct both a copywriter and a designer to the Creative Hall of Fame.”

Tim Delaney, chairman of Leagas Delaney in London and the One Club’s 2010 Creative Hall of Fame chairman, will induct Hughes and Bass at a ceremony at the Metropolitan Club in New York on March 2, 2010.

Hughes and Bass will join notable Hall of Fame members such as David Ogilvy, Bill Berbach, Ed McCabe, Howard Gossage, Jay Chiat, Lee Clow and Harry Jacobs, among many others.
