Omnicom Shops Win Florida Anti-Smoking Biz

Omnicom’s Alma DDB and OMD have teamed to win the Florida Department of Health’s Tobacco Free Florida anti-smoking assignment after a review, per sources.
According to the state’s RFP, the account is valued at $25 million for the first year, with provisions for “potential” 10 percent increases in the second and third years of the agreement. The award took effect July 1.
The state did not identify other contenders and a rep did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
Alma DDB, based in Coral Gables, Fla., is a specialist in Hispanic advertising but handles general market assignments as well.
According to the RFP, the scope of work includes creative, buying and planning, public relations and digital.
The anti-smoking campaign is the second account the two shops have won from Florida recently. Last year, they were awarded duties for Visit Florida, the state’s official tourism corporation.
