NEW YORK Omnicom Group on Tuesday said its first-quarter net income surged 17 percent to $135.6 million, up from $115.5 million in the year-ago quarter. The company also said its diluted earnings per share increased 16 percent to 72 cents a share, up from 62 cents a share a year ago.
