Omnicom Posts Gains for Q4, Full Year

NEW YORK Omnicom Group said its net income for the fourth quarter increased 12 percent to nearly $237 million from about $211 million in the same quarter a year ago.

Global fourth-quarter revenue increased 11 percent to $2.8 billion from $2.5 billion a year ago.

For the full year, Omnicom’s net income increased 15 percent to $724 million. Global revenue for 2004 was $9.75 billion, up 13 percent from 2003.

Diluted earnings per share rose 15 percent to $3.88 per share in 2004, compared to $3.37 per share in 2003.

Omnicom’s numbers were positive across all disciplines and geographic areas.

The company said revenue from traditional advertising grew more than 40 percent last year. Revenue from CRM services grew 35 percent in 2004, while revenue for both public relations and specialty services each increased more than 10 percent each during the past 12 months.

Revenue in the U.S. increased nearly 11 percent for the year; overseas, revenue was up more than 16 percent for 2004.
