NEW YORK — Omnicom is looking to buy Organic and Agency.com from Seneca, a company set up last year to control Omnicom’s investments in more than a dozen besieged Internet firms.

“These are quality companies,” said Omnicom CFO Randall Weisenberger, during a conference call Tuesday. “We have an interest in acquiring these companies at the right price and incorporating them into the Omnicom family of companies.”

The 1:30 call addressed a Wall Street Journal story about Omnicom’s accounting practices.
