NEW YORK — Aaron Walton Entertainment, which creates marketing alliances between advertisers and the entertainment industry, has been acquired by Omnicom, the holding company said. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

The Los Angeles-based AWE was founded in 1988 by Aaron Walton, who continues as president. AWE also has a New York office and plans to open a Chicago office later this year.

AWE joins Omnicom’s Diversified Agency Services group, whose president, Tom Harrison, said in a statement, “AWE has shown a unique ability to understand the strategic goals of corporate clients and to develop entertainment marketing initiatives that create exposure and increase brand sales volume.”
