OMD Adds Allen as Head of Planning

LOS ANGELES — Omnicom media network OMD has added Kristina Allen as its first director of planning services. The veteran planner will be based in New York and was most recently senior vice preseident and media director at independent media shop TBS, which earlier this month changed its name to Catalyst.

“This is the last senior member of the OMD team to be hired,” said Steve Grubbs, president of OMD USA, who worked with Allen when she was media director of BBDO in Los Angeles.

“Kristina brings tremendous vitality to our organization,” Grubbs added. “She will also be very actively involved in new business.”

Although OMD is a buying partner to its three Omnicom sister ad agencies TBWA\Chiat\Day, DDB and BBDO, the U.S. arm of the media network frequently gets requests from OMD offices around the world for planning support, Grubbs explained. In addition, some of the smaller Omnicom and non-related smaller shops with which OMD partners as a broadcast buyer also frequently require the media shop’s input on planning issues, he said.
