Ogilvy & Mather here has beefed up its planning department, naming Mark Thompson senior partner and director of account management.
Thompson most recently was at The Leap Partnership in Chicago, where he served as director of account planning until the agency cut several top executives and pared down some departments earlier this year [Adweek, March 30]. Prior to his stint at Leap, he worked at TBWA/Chiat Day’s office in St. Louis, which closed last year. At O&M, he will report to managing partner Barbara Elmendorf, who continues to be in charge of brand stewardship at the agency.
