OgilvyOne Adds Ceria To S.F. Office

Euro RSCG 4D executive creative director Arthur Ceria is joining OgilvyOne’s San Francisco office, which opened last Tuesday to service the Yahoo! online advertising account, a new assignment, the agency said.

Ceria, who has worked on Volvo, MCI and Intel, will leave New York on Dec. 8 to become executive creative director of the WPP Group shop on San Francisco’s Sutter Street.

Both the agency and the client impressed Ceria enough to move his family to the West Coast, he said. Asked what attracted him to this post after four years at Euro, Ceria, who built his own design studio in his native France, said it was “working with Ogilvy, which has tremendous talent and creative respect, and also the combination of Ogilvy and Yahoo!, a very innovative brand.”

Ceria will report to Jan Leth, executive creative director of OgilvyOne, who said Ceria “represents a new generation of creative visionaries who are able to bring the total brand experience to the development of integrated creative solutions.”

The new office will be led by former Digital Impact executive Mark Yesayian. Over the next six weeks, the 25-person outpost plans to double its staff, said Carla Hendra, president of OgilvyOne North America. Some will come from Yahoo!’s in-house online creative group of about 20, which is being dismantled following OgilvyOne’s absorption of its duties.

The budget and percentage of OgilvyOne’s portion of the Yahoo! business were undisclosed.

Yahoo!, based in Sunnyvale, Calif., was introduced to OgilvyOne through WPP’s Soho Square, which handles the estimated $40 million U.S. brand ad account.
