Ogilvy & Mather New York hired Gerard Caputo as an executive creative director, starting on the agency's American Express account and reporting to North American Chief Creative Officer Steve Simpson.

Caputo joins Ogilvy from Crispin Porter + Bogusky, leaving the agency's Miami offices where he had been an executive creative director since August 2010. Previously he spent more than a year at DDB, and before that, four years at BBDO New York.

Caputo's credentials include a 2003 Emmy award for his work as an art director on PBS's Fish, and a 2008 Emmy nomination for Fed Ex's "Pigeons" Super Bowl Commercial.
