Now Playing For Team Canada

It might not be in line for a gold medal, but a Detroit-area commercial music production house has scored a perfect 10 in the Winter Olympics.
Dan Yessian, founder of Yessian Music, Farmington Hills, Mich., and local songwriting collaborators David Barrett and Kurt Schreitmueller wrote and produced the title song for the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.’s Winter Olympics broadcast.
The ballad, titled “You Believe in Me,” features a 12-member Detroit gospel choir handling backup vocals.
Yessian, whose company does voiceover production and produces original music, soundtracks and jingles for national TV and radio spots, jokes that he’s been in training for the Olympics for “over 25 years.”
Collaborator Barrett, of Ann Arbor, Mich., is no stranger to sports-related theme music. He also wrote “One Shining Moment,” CBS Sports’ TV theme song for the NCAA basketball championships for the past 10 years.
