Women’s soccer has been overshadowed by the men’s game for decades. But this is slowly changing, as seen in a new Nike ad in which the women’s game takes center stage.

Nike’s campaign for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, which started on July 6, celebrates the players leading the charge today, while also elevating the girls who will change the sport in the future

Created by Wieden+Kennedy London, the ad stars women from all levels of soccer—including Lionesses Captain Leah Williamson, France’s Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Barcelona’s Alexia Putellas, Norway’s Ada Hegerberg, Chelsea’s Magda Eriksson and Pernille Harder, and freestyler Rocky Hehakaija—plus girls from grassroots teams across Europe.

The focus in Nike’s high-octane ad is not on the players’ gender, but on their high levels of skill and confidence.
