NFL Boosts Waller to CMO Post

NEW YORK The National Football League has appointed Mark Waller CMO to oversee the NFL brand and integrated marketing efforts.

Waller had served as the league’s svp of marketing since 2006, handling international activities. Prior to that, he was evp of consumer strategy and marketing for North America at spirits company Diageo.

Also this week, the NFL appointed Keith Turner as svp of sales and sponsorship to lead ad sales on NFL Network, NFL.com and NFL Mobile. Turner hails from NBC Universal, where he was president of sales and marketing.

The senior moves come two months after the NFL selected WPP Group’s Grey here for branding efforts following a review. The league spends almost $160 million in annual measured media, per Nielsen.
