DALLAS The Dallas Morning News has named Bernie Heller vice president of advertising, said publisher and CEO Jim Moroney.

Heller, who has been the acting director of advertising since October 2005, will supervise all sales activities for the newspaper and its Web site.

“He earned this opportunity, and I am confident that he will continue to aggressively move our advertising efforts forward,” Moroney said.

In early 2005, Heller was named senior director of major and national sales.
